WCC hosts visitors from Finland, Germany, and Sweden

The World Council of Churches (WCC) hosted Bishop Dr Jukka Keskitalo and Rev. Pekka Mustakallio from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, to discuss the ecumenical agenda of 2023 and the harvesting of the WCC 11 th assembly, as well a group from the Centre for Ecumenism of the Protestant Church in Hesse and Nassau, and 21 ordinands from the Church of Sweden.

Con los temas de la guerra en Ucrania y la protección climática como ejes centrales, el 38º Kirchentag protestante alemán se celebrará en Núremberg (Alemania) del 7 al 11 de junio. La presencia del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias en el espacio de exposición “Mercado de oportunidades” del Kirchentag (pabellón 9, stand 9-C32) permite interacciones dinámicas y proporciona la oportunidad de aprender más sobre el movimiento ecuménico.

La organización Pan Para el Mundo (Brot für die Welt) celebró 70 años de servicio a la iglesia y el ecumenismo a través de su programa de becas intereclesiásticas, y el Secretario General del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI), Revdo. Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, expresó su agradecimiento por los 3 500 graduados/as y beneficiarios/as desde 1952.

German Protestant Kirchentag opens in Nuremberg

With the topics of the war in Ukraine and climate protection as the focal points, the 38th German Protestant Kirchentag takes place in Nuremberg, Germany from 7 to 11 June. The World Council of Churches’ presence in the Kirchentag’s exhibition space Market of Opportunities” (hall 9, stand 9-C32) enables lively encounters and an opportunity to learn more about the ecumenical movement.

WCC moderator speaks on ethical considerations in light of the war of aggression against Ukraine

World Council of Churches central committee moderator Bishop Dr Heinrich Bedford-Strohm delivered a lecture at the Kitzingen deanery, a regional church district near Würzburg, for the parishes of the deanery as well as for the public. The lecture, entitled Just Peace through Military Force? Peace Ethical Considerations in Light of the War of Aggression against Ukraine,” was offered on 29 April

El moderador del Comité Central del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias, el obispo Dr. Heinrich Bedford-Strohm, ofreció el 29 de abril la conferencia titulada “¿Paz justa mediante la fuerza militar? Consideraciones éticas de la pacificación ante la guerra de agresión contra Ucrania” en el decanato de Kitzingen, distrito eclesiástico regional cercano a Würzburg, para las parroquias locales y el público general.
