Countdown to Ecumenical Youth Gathering: the contributions of young people to the ecumenical movement

The Ecumenical Youth Gathering to be held on 27-30 August before the World Council of Churches (WCC) 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe, Germany, aims to bring together around 400 young people from various churches and ecumenical partners to discuss a common message. The event is designed to provide an opportunity for young people to participate in intergenerational dialogue and develop a more inclusive agenda for the movement.

WCC extends sympathy to South Korea in wake of record flooding

World Council of Churches acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca extended greetings and sympathy to the many in South Korea affected by record heavy rainfall—the most in 115 years. The deluge battered Seoul and caused damage throughout the central and eastern regions in South Korea.

Durante una reciente visita de solidaridad a Ucrania, una delegación del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) se reunió con varias instituciones estatales que trabajan en temas religiosos para escuchar y aprender de los testimonios de las víctimas de la guerra actual, y pedir apoyo para que los miembros de la delegación de las iglesias ucranianas obtengan permiso para salir del país y poder participar en la 11ª Asamblea del CMI en Karlsruhe (Alemania).

During the recent solidarity visit in Ukraine, a World Council of Churches (WCC) delegation has met with various state institutions working with religious issues, listening and learning from the victims of the ongoing war and asking for support in giving permission to the members of the delegation of Ukrainian Churches to leave the country and attend the WCC 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe.
