The plenary Bible studies are an important aspect of the work of the assembly. They give participants an opportunity to meet daily around a Bible passage to reflect on the theme and the experience of the assembly. Participants can discern together God’s purposes for themselves and the ecumenical movement. They meet in groups which are small enough to allow everyone to contribute and large enough to give a range of perspectives. The Bible study sessions provide an opportunity for participants to explore the assembly theme together in the light of the biblical texts, knowledge, and experience. To be involved in group Bible study is to be open to one another, to the Bible passage and to the Holy Spirit. It is not to win an argument or to persuade others to a particular point of view. These sessions should be a place where the participants can integrate all they have heard and done in the assembly and discover together the possibilities of transformation that God offers us.

The service is attended by participants in an Inter-Orthodox Pre-Assembly Consultation to the World Council of Churches’ 11th Assembly that brings together more than 50 delegates representing 20 Eastern and Oriental Orthodox member churches, in Cyprus on 9-16 May 2022.

A continuación, la Rev. Dra. Susan Durber, moderadora de la Comisión de Fe y Constitución del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI), y Su Eminencia el obispo Maxim de la Iglesia Ortodoxa Serbia, miembro de la Comisión de Fe y Constitución del CMI, reflexionan sobre la publicación “What Are the Churches Saying About the Church?” (¿Qué dicen las iglesias sobre la Iglesia?).

La publicación, que presenta las principales conclusiones y propuestas de las respuestas a “La Iglesia: Hacia una visión común”, es uno de los muchos frutos recogidos por los grupos de estudio de la Comisión de Fe y Constitución del CMI para la 11ª Asamblea del CMI.

Reflexionen zu “What are the Churches Saying About the Church?” teilen Früchte der ÖRK-Kommission für Glauben und Kirchenverfassung

Unten: Pn. Dr. Susan Durber, Vorsitzende der Kommission für Glauben und Kirchenverfassung des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK), und S.E. Bishop Maxim von der Serbischen Orthodoxen Kirche, Mitglied der Kommission für Glauben und Kirchenverfassung, reflektieren über die Veröffentlichung “What Are the Churches Saying About the Church?” (“Was sagen die Kirchen über die Kirche?”, in Englischer Sprache).

Die Veröffentlichung, welche wesentliche Ergebnisse und Vorschläge aus den Antworten zu “Die Kirche: Auf dem Weg zu einer gemeinsamen Vision”  präsentiert, ist eine der vielen Früchte, die von der Studiengruppen der ÖRK-Kommission für Gauben und Kirchenverfassung für die 11. ÖRK-Generalversammlung eingebracht werden.

Auf einer im Vorfeld der Vollversammlung abgehaltenen Planungstagung und informellen Sitzung zur Netzwerkarbeit richtete das örtliche Karlsruher Vollversammlungsbüro am 17. Mai ein Programm zur Besprechung des aktuellen Stands der Planungen für die 11. Vollversammlung des Ökumenischen Rats der Kirchen (ÖRK) aus. Über 150 Menschen nahmen daran teil.

El número reciente de la revista internacional de misión (International Review of Mission) se centra una vez más en “El amor de Cristo: misión y unidad”

Con los ojos puestos en la Asamblea de 2022 del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) que se reunirá en torno al tema “El amor de Cristo lleva al mundo a la reconciliación y la unidad”, el primer número de este año de la International Review of Mission se centra en el tema “El amor de Cristo: misión y unidad”.
