The Community of Baptist Churches in Central Africa (CBCA) was founded in 1927 by an American missionary society named Unevagelized Africa Mission. It is present in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The church became independent in 1964.

In 2016, the church had already over 500,000 members including children (over 200,000 baptized members), 418 recognized congregations and 300 outposts, 481 ordained pastors and 181 retired pastors, 62 evangelists, 43 staff working in central church administration.

The CBCA is a member of the All Africa Conference of Churches, the Church of Christ in Congo, the Baptist World Alliance, and is a partner of the United Evangelical Mission in Germany.
