Lord our God and Creator!

We thank you for the privilege of being part of a rich community of churches as the WCC is.

We thank you for the wonderful work of the WCC during those 70 years, uniting Christians of different traditions and of many countries in a common pilgrimage for justice and peace.

We thank you that WCC has been able to show how faith in You, how being followers of Christ, can unite people of diverse cultures, countries and spiritual traditions while still preserving this wonderful diversity You have created in humankind.

We thank you that the WCC has been able to spread the Light of the Gospel in the darkest places through its members, encouraging one another, praying for one another, supporting one another. We thank you that the WCC has been able to work for peace and understanding on behalf of and together with its members.

We thank you for the clear vision and willingness of the founders of the WCC, to put this vision into practice.

We pray, Lord, that you would continue to guide the WCC in this complex world, channelling your blessings through it and showing the world that there is a way to live and work together in a blessed diversity in unity. We pray that you would strengthen the role of the WCC even more, uniting Christians from all nations and cultures and languages. And that this unity would be a witness of the Gospel, glorifying your name!

Amen.
