Stories of desperation and hope—

“Our cries for justice are as real as the air we breathe – air polluted through the inhuman methods of oil exploration and the discharge of gas.  Our cries for justice are as urgent and desperate for the person living with disability as they are for the one whose relational changes bring abuse and marginalization.  Our cries for justice are strong….”—from the Preface

Assuming the voices of African women, Jessie Fubara-Manuel introduces us to the concrete realities of their lives in vivid description, insightful analysis, and abiding hope.  Through her, we come to know their joys and pains and the systemic evils that they daily battle.
