Youth are the future of the church, and they are great advocates for Christian unity. The WCC wants to empower young Christians to liven up the ecumenical movement, celebrating on the day their gifts and addressing the common concerns and challenges of the young people around the world.

This year's IYD theme is: “Transforming Education”

The sub-themes with TED-style talks and round table discussions will include:

  • Climate justice
  • Gender justice
  • Higher education & employment
  • Radical extremism
  • Migration & refugee crises

The youth-led day of worship and activities will be open to the media and public.

Light-lunch will will be offered at 13.30, Ecumenical Centre lobby
