What: The World Council of Churches and UNICEF to sign a global agreement to promote children’s rights globally.

Who: Liza Barrie, UNICEF’s Chief of Civil Society Partnerships, and Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, General Secretary of the World Council of Churches.

When: 10:00 to 11:00, 18 September 2015

Where: Ecumenical Centre, 150 route de Ferney, Geneva.

The new partnership seeks to build the capacity of World Council member churches, specialized ministries and ecumenical partners to monitor and promote children’s rights within their communities and congregations. The partnership will underscore two pressing issues that negatively impact children: violence and climate change.

10.15: Round table discussion with:
Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, General Secretary of the World Council of Churches.
Liza Barrie, UNICEF’s Chief of Civil Society Partnerships.   
Representatives from Nigeria and India via Skype.  
The discussion will be moderated by Claus Grue, WCC Communications.
10.45: Questions from the audience.
11.00: Children's Choir from the International School of Geneva (Campus des Nations)
11.15: Reception with refreshments
