The landmark visit of Pope Francis to the World Council of Churches on 21 June signals a new day in the ecumenical quest for Christian unity. Despite historic differences and divisions, Christians of all traditions, regions and confessions discover their communion in “Walking, Praying and Working Together” to heal a broken world and pursue peace and justice.
The pope’s pilgrimage to Geneva is a centrepiece of the ecumenical commemoration of the WCC's 70th anniversary and an occasion for rejoicing in our shared faith, hope and love.
