To promote awareness and action against female genital mutilation (FGM), an evening featuring music, reflections, an art exhibition and special messages will be held by the Global Alliance against Female Genital Mutilation (GA-FGM) in collaboration with the World Council of Churches (WCC)

Speakers at the event will include:
- Joshua Lincoln, Chief of Cabinet, Office of the United Nations Director General
- Dr Reinout Vos, deputy permanent representative, Mission of the of Netherlands
- Jutta Schmitz, representative of the Diplomatic Mission of Germany
- Nakpa Polo, representative of the Mission of Togo
- WCC general secretary, Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit will offer an ecumenical prayer
