First-hand information on the current situation in Cuba, domestic violence, children’s rights, the mission of the church and other topics will be shared at a

lunchtime briefing

on Tuesday 18 November 2003, from 12:30 to 14:00

at the Ecumenical Centre (Salle IV), 150 Route de Ferney, Geneva


Dr Reinerio Arce

President of the Cuban Council of Churches and professor at the Matanzas Theological Seminary.

Dr Patricia Ares

President of the Cuban Society of Psychologists and coordinator of the World Council of Churches' Decade to Overcome Violence reference committee in Cuba.

The briefing is being organized by the WCC/DOV.

The briefing will be in Spanish with interpretation into English.
