WCC general secretary Rev. Dr Samuel Kobia is the guest speaker at the 19th World Methodist Council in Seoul, Korea from 20-24 July. The overall conference theme is "God in Christ Reconciling".

Kobia will give an address on 22 July on "Claiming a Common Future". He is also scheduled to preach at an ecumenical service on 23 July.

The World Methodist Council is a Christian World Communion that brings together seventy-six member churches from the Methodist/Wesleyan family in 132 countries. The Council began in 1881 and meets at five year intervals.

Kobia is an ordained minister of the Methodist Church of Kenya, and is the third WCC general secretary from the Methodist tradition.

The WCC leader is also visiting WCC member churches in the country during his stay.
