"On the wings of a dove", a sixteen-day World Council of Churches' (WCC) worldwide campaign to overcome violence against women and children, will be launched on Thursday 25 November 2004 at the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva.

The coordinator of the Sudan Council of Churches Women's programme, a representative of the Community Development Association (Khartoum, Sudan) and the special advisor of the UNHCR Department of International Protection will speak at the launch.

The World Council of Churches (WCC), the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC), the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) and the Conference of European churches (CEC) are co-hosting the event.

From 25 November until 10 December, churches and church-related organizations around the world will be organizing worship services and prayer vigils, discussions and exhibitions to promote increased public awareness on violence against women and children, in an attempt to bring justice and healing to those who are suffering from violence.
