Bishop Dr Wolfgang Huber, chair of the council of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), is visiting the World Council of Churches (WCC) and other organizations in Geneva from 22-24 September at the invitation of the WCC general secretary, Rev. Dr Samuel Kobia, whose visit to Germany in July 2004 he is thus returning.

During his stay in Geneva, the EKD president will be brought up to date on the WCC's programmes. On 22 September, Huber will visit the Conference of European Churches (CEC) and the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC).

Talks with the WCC general secretary and with staff of WCC programmes on ecumenical and interreligious relations, economy and globalization are scheduled for Thursday, 23 September.

Bishop Huber will meet Oluseyi Bajulaiye, deputy director in the Europe office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees office (UNHCR) on Friday, 24 September. A courtesy call to Michael Steiner, German ambassador at the United Nations, is also planned.
