Hope, solidarity and a spirit of service are recurring themes in Easter messages received by the World Council of Churches from many of its member churches and partners.

“We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ will give all of us the strength to get through this situation and also the strength to show solidarity within the community, to help each other, and to practice humanity to all people no matter their backgrounds,“ writes the Pasundan Christian Church Synod Board from Indonesia.

The Evangelical Methodist Church in Argentina expresses a wish of grace, peace and goodness. “The Risen One dawns in our lives, our churches and our world," the message reads.

The Liberia Council of Churches writes that Easter reminds us that hope should never be lost.“Pronouncement of the doors of the church closure is troublesome. The believers gathering to worship has been restricted,” reads the message. “We have always heard the word hope, but our message to you today is have a new hope. We should not allow this tiny enemy to defeat our purpose to worship God.”
