During the 2003 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and in the spirit of the Decade to Overcome Violence
on Sunday 19 January from 15:00 - 18:30
at the Eglise Saint-Germain
the Assembly of Churches and Christian Communities of Geneva (RECG) and the World Council of Churches (WCC) will organise
an afternoon with Geneva's church and political leaders on the theme "from violence to peace".
Many of our relationships today - whether conjugal, family, professional, social, political, cultural or religious - are tainted by violence. Speeches, questions and testimonies of local Christians engaged in various spheres, as well as a time for prayer, will attempt to draw attention to and, as far as possible, address the question: "What can we do together to make our society more human?"

Rev. Dr Konrad Raiser, WCC general secretary
Mgr. Diarmuid Martin, apostolic nuncio, permanent representative of the Holy See at the United Nations, Geneva
