After having spent Saturday and Sunday deliberating in smaller groups, central committee delegates will be required, as of Monday, to take a number of strategic decisions affecting the work of the WCC over the next seven years.

In particular, and in response to a call for better integration of youth in the work of the Council voiced at the 9th Assembly at the beginning of this year, they will come to a conclusion on the establishment of a "youth body" within the WCC. In addition, they will decide on a new plan for programmatic work for the period to come.

A number of statements on public issues are expected for the end of the meeting. The central committee will, in particular, address the fate of children in Uganda, as well as the situation in Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Kosovo and Lebanon.
