From the restaurant terrace, at Chateau de Bossey, one enjoys a clear view of Lake Geneva during a shared meal with family and friends. Located just 15 kilometres outside of Geneva, the restaurant has a broad range of freshly cooked food in a buffet-style manner, prepared with care and thoughtfulness.

“Our meals are based on seasonal groceries we buy at the market” says Remi Pheulpin, chef at the restaurant. He has a wide range of recipes of the traditional French cuisine in mind. Especially for people enjoying well prepared seafood, the restaurant in the Jura mountains is a destination. “I have no favourite dish, but my speciality is preparing fish,” explains Chef Pheulpin.

Another distinguishing feature is the focus on locally-produced food. Bossey even has its own garden where not only vegetables and fruits are grown, but also herbs. “Currently we grow specifically salad. For the other vegetables we have to wait a bit longer, as our garden is like our kitchen. We adapt to the seasons. Later in the year we will have tomatoes, melons and potatoes for example,” reveals Aliu Kushtrin, manager of the hotel.

Chateau de Bossey, though mainly known for the Ecumenical Institute and its conference facilities, is open to and welcomes everyone from near and far.

“Bossey is a friendly place, uses locally grown products, it is traditional and familial,” says Chef Pheulpin, adding an invitation to everyone interested: “So if you are looking for a peaceful place to spend some time, come visit us!”
