Several churches have, in the last decades, apologised for their racist past, i.e. their involvement not only in the justification of slavery and colonialism but also their involvement. A recent example is the Church of England (CoE) recent apology for decades of racism. But what do such apologies concretely mean? How do they translate in mending and healing the brokenness resulting from centuries of racial injustice ?
