The World Council of Churches Commission on Faith and Order will hold a public consultation “Towards a Global Understanding of the Church” in partnership with the Faculdade Unida de Vitória, 18-22 March 2019. The consultation aims at broadening the ecumenical ecclesiological discourse with churches who have not yet been part of the discussions of “The Church Towards a Common Vision”.

During the consultation in Vitória the Faith and Order study group working on ecclesiology will engage in dialogue with representatives of Pentecostal, neo-Pentecostal and emerging church leaders in Latin America. The purpose of the discussion is to  identify similarities, differences and possible areas of future convergence between the new churches and “traditional” ecclesiologies.
