Along with many others, we bishops are looking forward to COP26 with both hope and trepidation. The stakes are tremendously high. There is now broad global consensus on the gravity of the situation. Climate change is causing forest fires, floods and droughts that are claiming lives all over the world. People are being forced to flee. More and more of the limits of what our planet can withstand are on the verge of being exceeded.
