Maria Munkholt Christensen is a postdoc researcher at University of Göttingen, Germany. She has a PhD degree from Aarhus University, Denmark, where she defended her thesis, Relating through Prayer: Identity Formation in Early Christianity.

She represents the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark in the WCC Commission on Faith and Order.
