Hau Sian Suan is a member the Lawibual Baptist Church in Myanmar and serves as chairperson of its Christian Religious Education Department. Since 2010, he is also a lecturer at Tedim Theological College, specializing in Ecumenism, Christian Ethics, and Church History.

His first international ecumenical experience was as a participant of the Youth for Eco-Justice training programme organized by the World Council of Churches and the Lutheran World Federation in Durban, South Africa in 2011. In 2016, he participated in the WCC's Youth in Asia Training for Religious Amity, which took place from 28 May to 11 June at the Jakarta Theological Seminary in Indonesia.

He has studied theology in Myanmar, as well as at Eden Theological Seminary in St Louis, United States, and at the WCC's Ecumenical Institute Bossey, Switzerland.
