Rev. Prof. Dr Renta Nishihara is the bishop-elect of the Diocese of Chubu (mid-Japan), the Anglican Church in Japan (NSKK). He is a professor of the Rikkyo University (Tokyo), dean of the College of Arts and vice-chancellor. He is a member of the WCC Central Committee and the International Reformed Anglican Dialogue. He was a member of the Inter-Anglican Standing Commission on Ecumenical Relations and the Anglican-Lutheran International Commission. He is a board member of the Colleges and Universities of the Anglican Communion and the executive director of the Japan Society of Christian Studies. His major is Anglicanism and ecumenism, especially on the Anglican Orders. He was born in 1962.
