The Rev. Dr. Henriette Huttabarat-Lebang is a church leader and ecumenist from Indonesia holding a Bachelor of Theology and Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Sarjana Theologia, and from Jakarta Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts (MA) in Christian Education. She earned a Doctorate of Education from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education, Richmond, Virginia, USA (now: Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia, USA).
Rev. Dr. Henriette Hutabarat- Lebang, a current member of the WCC central committee, has served the ecumenical movement since her involvement in the Youth Working Group of the NCC Indonesia beginning in 1976. In the recent term, Henriette has served on the WCC central and executive committees, search committee, working group on constitution and rules, and the permanent committee on consensus and collaboration, among many other roles. She served as a member of the Joint Working Group of the WCC and the Roman Catholic Church, and as Vice Moderator of the Advisory Group on Church and Ecumenical Relations.
She has held many positions in Indonesia and the Asia region, including the position of General Chairperson of the Communion of Churches in Indonesia, Member of the General and Executive Committees of the Christian Conference of Asia (CCA), general secretary of the Christian Conference of Asia and Vice President of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC).
The Rev. Dr. Hutabarat-Lebang served as Director of the Institute Theology of Toraja Church, and has held many other local and regional church and ecumenical offices.
