Women and young adults respond to religious plurality

Women are often the backbone of religious communities and keep alive the faith of their communities. This activity will focus on women of faith and their contributions to inter-religious dialogue and cooperation.

In collaboration with the Bossey Ecumenical Institute, young people will live out a one-month interfaith work experience in "building an interfaith community". The experience, conducted in conjunction with the Fireflies Ashram in Bangalore, will promote exchange between young adults on themes related to religious identities and the construction of meaning in pluralist societies.

Regional meetings will engage women in multilateral dialogues in South Asia, Eastern Europe and Western Africa.

The activity will invite women of faith to identify their responses to living in multi-faith contexts, and engage young Hindus, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Sikhs and Buddhists to reflect on the role of religion and religious identity in a context of tension and communalism.
