Fictitious example: Church of the People has 2,300,000 members
its base contribution is CHF 150,000
2. Relate the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the country or countries where your church is located to the GDP of our richest member church country, i.e. the United States at $34,320. See below for a table of GDP data.
Fictitious example: Church of the People is located in Tanzania, which has a GDP of $ 520, related to the US GDP of $34,320
this represents 1.5% (520/34,320*100) of the capacity to pay the base contribution.
3. Relate the capacity to the base contribution
Fictitious example: Church of the People, located in Tanzania, has the capacity to pay 1.5% of the base contribution of CHF 150,000
i.e. CHF 2,250
4. Compare the adjusted contribution to most recent contributions. Churches will not be asked to pay less than in previous years; all churches pay a minimum of CHF 1,000.
Fictitious example: Church of the People contribution CHF 3,500 in 2007
amount requested for 2008: CHF 3,500
