The role of the church in religious conflicts is to encourage dialogue between religions, to encourage tolerance of all religions and to promote what is common to all religions, such as commitment to human rights and environmental justice.

All climate issues are important for the church to be involved in because the church has the responsibility to teach its people and to raise awareness about these issues. Addressing issues of climate change is the effort of everybody.

The biggest challenges for the WCC in coming years is to make a real statement about peace and justice so that the churches will follow and to maintain the unity of the churches at all levels of the WCC.
