Celebrated on 6 January, the Theophany is one of the great feasts of the Orthodox Church. It celebrates the revelation of the Holy Trinity to the world through the baptism of Jesus Christ in the waters of the Jordan River by John the Baptist.

The service and blessing were led by Father Dr Daniel Buda, priest of the Romanian Orthodox Church and World Council of Churches (WCC) programme executive for the Coordination of Church and Ecumenical Relations.
