Consejo Consultivo Anglicano
En 1968, los obispos de la Conferencia de Lambeth solicitaron la creación de un organismo representativo de todos los sectores (obispos, clérigos y laicos) de las iglesias que pudiera coordinar aspectos de la labor ecuménica y misionera de los anglicanos a nivel internacional. Con el consentimiento de los órganos legislativos de todas las provincias, el Consejo Consultivo Anglicano fue creado en 1969. Desde entonces, se ha reunido con regularidad.
La Comunión Anglicana está compuesta por unos ochenta millones de cristianos que son miembros de cuarenta y cuatro iglesias diferentes. Estas iglesias forman treinta y cuatro provincias, cuatro iglesias unidas y seis iglesias minoritarias, que se extienden por todo el mundo. De ellas, veintinueve provincias y siete iglesias son miembros del CMI. El Consejo Consultivo Anglicano cuenta con una secretaría permanente con sede en Londres, la Oficina de la Comunión Anglicana, que también sirve al resto de instrumentos de comunión. La secretaría se encarga de organizar todas las reuniones de los instrumentos conciliares de comunión, así como de las comisiones y redes de la comunión.
