Every Child’s Birth Right: Inequities and trends in birth registration

This UNICEF publication presents the latest available data on the extent of unregistered children and assesses progress to date in increasing birth registration rates worldwide.

01 December 2013

The report draws information from more than 300 data sources over a 20-year period. It examines inequities in prevalence according to social, economic, demographic and other characteristics and also highlights trends over time, within and across countries. The findings are intended to inform the development of policies and programmes that advance birth registration worldwide, ensuring that the birth of every child is on record.
