The report draws information from more than 300 data sources over a 20-year period. It examines inequities in prevalence according to social, economic, demographic and other characteristics and also highlights trends over time, within and across countries. The findings are intended to inform the development of policies and programmes that advance birth registration worldwide, ensuring that the birth of every child is on record.
