Ecumenical lay formation and faith nurture

Many people who hold or will hold key positions within churches and church-related organizations have had limited opportunities for ecumenical experience and knowledge. This project supports ecumenical formation, particularly of laity, leadership training as well as faith nurture.

In cooperation with congregations, national churches, ecumenical networks and councils of churches, church-related agencies and specialized ministries as well as lay academies, it draws on the creative experience and research of those engaged in formation.

Seminars, workshops and other events are organized to multiply the experience of effective approaches and to offer examples of good practice of ecumenical formation. The project also encourages sharing of practices between individuals and institutions, research in the theological pedagogy of formation and, in general, the development and dissemination of models, methodologies and resources.

The seminars for 2007 were on:

    -  Youth Identity and Spirituality

    -  The Bible and Sexual Violence: Contextual Bible Studies
