500 year Reformation: launch of the anniversary celebrations
The European Roadmap will start in Geneva and visit 67 European Cities

Dear member of the press,

All of Europe is preparing for the anniversary of «500 year Reformation». On November 3rd 2016 the international festivities and the first stopover of the «Reformation-Truck» will be launched in the City of Reformation, Geneva. Geneva hosts the World Council of Churches as one of many international organisations.

With the Reformation-Truck «Stories on the road» the Community of Protestant Churches in Europe (CPCE), the Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches (SEK) and the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) will forge a bond between all Europeans. 67 European cities in 19 countries will participate in the «European Roadmap».

The Swiss Government, represented by the Federal Council Alain Berset, and many more international personalities will officially launch the anniversary celebrations «500 years Reformation». We would like to invite you to participate:

Ceremony starting 10.15am, Plaine de Plainpalais, Geneva

- Heinrich Bedford Strohm, Chairman Evangelical Church in Germany
- Olav Fykse Tveit, General Secretary World Council of Churches
- Emmanuel Fuchs, president l’Eglise protestante de Genève
