Do you have a photo that tells a story about water? As part of the Lenten campaign “Seven Weeks for Water”, the World Council of Churches (WCC) Ecumenical Water Network (EWN) is promoting its second annual photo contest on Instagram encouraging people to share images of water in their daily lives.

EWN advocates for water justice, focusing on situations where people don't have access to water. "Seven Weeks for Water” started in 2008 as a collection of weekly reflections and other resources on water.

This year, the focus of the campaign is water justice in Africa.

Each photo has a story behind it — a story that represents a step on our collective pilgrimage of justice and peace. During the last week of the 2017 campaign, EWN wants to create a platform where photo enthusiasts worldwide can share images of water and interact with each other.

The EWN photo contest will be from 10 – 18 April and is open to all people who use Instagram, a free online mobile photo-sharing service that enables its users to take pictures and videos, and share them publicly through a variety of social networking platforms.

To join the contest, post pictures that show how water is important in your life or how you perceive the abundance or scarcity of this natural resource around you. And, if you believe that water is somehow related to issues of justice and peace, show us how!

It is important to use the hash tag #7Weeks4Water and #WCC when you post your images.

The WCC team will select the best pictures and republish them in WCC social media channels, giving you credit for the image. Winners will be announced on 21 April.
