The World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary, Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, offered condolences on the death of Fr Siketi Tonga, general secretary of the Tonga National Council of Churches. A priest with the Anglican Church, Tonga passed away last week and was laid to rest in Nuku’alofa on Saturday, 12 April.
“Leaders such as Father Siketi offer inspiration for our common life together as Christians,” said Tveit in his letter to the Tonga National Council of Churches.
“We are reminded through such commitment of our calling ‘that all may be one.’ I pray that the work that has been accomplished in Tonga may continue to flourish in remembrance of the dedication offered by your late General Secretary,” he added.
