The World Council of Churches (WCC) has developed a platform to facilitate networking and collaboration among churches and partners in the implementation of the Churches' Commitments to Children. The digital map portrays and links the efforts of churches and partners involved in efforts to improve children’s lives.

The WCC, with support from UNICEF, developed the platform to present expertise and needs in the wake of an the enthusiastic response to an initial WCC invitation to share commitments to children.

“I am delighted to share with you that a large number of member churches have responded positively to the invitation, showing a high degree of readiness and enthusiasm for collaborative action within the WCC’s constituency,” said WCC general secretary Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit. “I express my deep gratitude to all of you for raising the churches’ voices to improve children’s lives.”

How does the platform work?

If a church is committed to children and shares information about expertise or needs through a survey, those commitments to children are then nurtured through this common platform (https://commitments-to-children.oikoumene.org) as users review the map and identify possible partners who share their priorities.

If a church or organization does not yet appear on the map and would like to join collaborative efforts to improve children's lives, they can inform the WCC via an online survey at https://surveys.oikoumene.org/children.
