World Children`s Day - WCC Children`s Day

World Children`s Day, 20 November, is a time for world community and churches to express their dedication to children`s wellbeing. The WCC is inviting member churches worldwide to mark World Children's Day by organizing celebrations for children on 19-20 November and letting the views and thoughts of children be heard. On Monday, 20 November, 8:30 a.m, a Children`s Day service will focus on the challenges faced by children and the important role of churches to support young people world wide.

World Children`s Day, 20 November, is a time for world community and churches to express their dedication to children`s wellbeing.

The WCC is inviting member churches worldwide to mark World Children's Day by organizing celebrations for children on 19-20 November and letting the views and thoughts of children be heard.

On Monday, 20 November, 8:30 a.m, a Children`s Day service will focus on the challenges faced by children and the important role of churches to support young people world wide.

Religious and spiritual resources

Resources from diverse religious traditions have been collected by Arigatou International. Use these presentations, prayers, video clips, and children's quotations to enrich your World Children's Day activity.

Support materials also made available by UNICEF.

 

The WCC is organizing two webinars on the occasion of World Children's Day

- 10 November, (2-3:30 pm Geneva/Central European Time): webinar on how to use UN human rights mechanisms in the implementation of the “Churches' Commitments to Children” (with Adrien-Claude Zoller, President of Geneva for Human Rights)

- 20 November (2-3:30 Geneva/Central European Time): webinar on statelessness and the role churches can play to promote birth registration (with resource persons from UNHCR and UNICEF)
