World AIDS Day 2017 - prayer service, exhibition, panel discussion
On 1 December 2017, the World Council of Churches invites a full-day event at the Ecumencial Centre in Geneva, featuring a commemorative service, an interactive exhibition and a panel discussion on the lives and rights of children and adolescents living with HIV.

10.00-11.30: Launch of art exhibit

Panel discussion on the lives and rights of children and adolescents living with HIV
11.30-12.30: Light refreshment
13.30-15.30: Interactive workshop
The lives of children, adolescents and HIV explained through a painting session (activities for children and adolescents)
16.30-18.00: Vernissage: Painting for Education
The artwork will be sold to raise funds for next year’s school fees for HIV positive children and adolescents in Kenya
About the panel discussion

To support and promote advocacy and prioritization of children’s and adolescents’ rights including the right to treatment and education in the context of HIV at Global, National levels and among FBOs

To share good practices emerging from various initiatives which directly involve children and adolescents living with HIV
-
To promote implementation of a common framework for accelerated action to reach AIDS Free targets (to provide 1.6 million children and 1.2 million adolescents with antiretroviral treatment for HIV by 2018)

To provide opportunity to strengthen old relationships and to forge new partnerships between faith and other sectors for promoting the rights of children and adolescents living with HIV

To renew commitment for a shared vision on Ending AIDS in children by 2020.
