Prayers for peace - Ecumenical service at Trinity Church, Oslo, Norway

On 9 december, the World Council of Churches invites everyone to a prayer service for peace at the Trinity Church in Oslo, Norway, together with churches in Norway and representatives of ICAN, following the Nobel Peace Prize award 2017.

On 9 december, the World Council of Churches (WCC) invites everyone to a prayer service for peace at the Trinity Church in Oslo, Norway, together with churches in Norway and representatives of the ICAN Campaign, following the Nobel Peace Prize award 2017.

Church of Norway’s presiding bishop Helga Haugland Byfuglien, and Mission Covenant Church of Norway's general secretary Øyvind Haraldseid will lead the liturgy. WCC general secretary Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit will preach.

Kiriaki P. Samuelsen (Greek Orthodox Society), Marit Kromberg (Quakers) and William Cochrane from the Salvation Army will participate in the service. Music will be led by Ulf Nilsen.

The service will offer time to listen, to pray for peace, and will see greetings from Linnet Ng’ayu of the African Council of Religious Leaders - Religions for Peace (ACRL-RFP), who is also on the international board of the ICAN Campaign.
