European Christian Internet Conference

ECIC 2018 wants to look at the opportunities and risks of using automation in communicating Christ’s message to people around us, and ask: Does the church have a responsibility to “keep it real”? What does authenticity mean in an increasingly automated world? Can workflows and automations help us to “be there for the other”?

Fast and personalized responses have become the gold standard for web-based communication - with the help of technologies such as chat bots.  At the same time, more and more people feel more and more isolated and lonely.

The ECIC is a European event open to members or representatives of the member churches of the World Council of Churches (WCC), the Conference of European Churches (CEC) or the Roman Catholic Church and to Christian organizations affiliated with these churches. It aims to maintain a network of Christians working with the internet in the ministry of the church and who can act as a resource and support for each other as well as for their own churches.

Keynotes and panels will be livestreamed via the ECIC YouTube channel.
