US Conference Board Meeting
Peace and overcoming violence will preoccupy the Board of Directors of the United States Conference for the WCC at their 24-25 October meeting in New York.
In response to the international WCC peace conference "Churches Together for Peace & Justice in the Middle East" in Amman last June, participants will discuss how to mobilize US churches and ecumenical partners to embrace the Amman Call.
Besides, the US committee for the Decade to Overcome Violence invites the Board of Directors to look ahead to the International Ecumenical Peace Convocation in 2011. The meeting is also an occasion reflect on the insights shared and recommendations made by the Living Letters delegation whose recent visit expressed the solidarity of WCC member churches worldwide with peacemakers in the United States.
The meeting is by invitation only.
