Media accreditation is open for Edinburgh 2010 Centenary Conference & Celebrations, 2–6 Jun 2010, Edinburgh, UK
[This media advisory is sent on behalf of the Edinburgh 2010 Centenary Conference]
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to apply for press accreditation for the Edinburgh 2010 Conference and Sunday Celebrations to be held in Edinburgh, UK, from 2–6 June 2010.
In Edinburgh, the World Church will come together to commemorate the Centenary of the 1910 World Missionary Conference, and to provide new perspectives on mission for the 21st century. The 1910 World Missionary Conference was a defining event for Christianity in the modern world, and led to the emergence of the modern ecumenical movement.
Approximately 250 mission leaders from across the globe will participate in the Centenary Conference, which takes place from 2-5 June at Pollock Halls, Edinburgh. Delegates come from the Protestant, Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Evangelical and Pentecostal churches.
Due to limited space we can only provide press passes for a small number of journalists. We apologise if we cannot meet all requests. (Interpretation of the main session into French and Spanish will be confirmed at a later stage.)
On Sunday 6 June, the 250 delegates will be joined by 800 local and international visitors for a 3 hour celebratory worship at the historic conference venue, the Assembly Hall, The Mound, Edinburgh. The Archbishop of York, Dr. John Sentamu, will lead the service along with representatives of the World Church.
A large number of press passes will be available for this event.
Please note that journalists are expected to pay for their own travel, accommodation and any other expenses.
