International Ecumenical Peace Convocation

The World Council of Churches' 9th assembly decided that the conclusion of the Decade to Overcome Violence be marked by an International Ecumenical Peace Convocation. This convocation aims at witnessing to the peace of God as a gift and responsibility of the oikumene. Ethical and theological reflection on stem cell research

Time for Creation

From 1 September - the first day of the Orthodox church year - to 4 October - the feast of Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and the environment, in the Catholic tradition - churches are called to become involved in the Time for Creation. This year, the WCC focus is on the situation of those islands in the Pacific that are in the front line of climate changes.
