"Thirst for Life" in Manhattan, New York, on April 27th

An exciting all-day event entitled Thirst for Life is taking place in downtown Manhattan at Pace University on Friday April 27th from 10am-6pm. The event is organized by Church World Service and is co-sponsored by Pace University and the United Nations' International Decade for Action: Water for Life. The conference will feature speakers from the United Nations (including Frederik Pischke from UN Water) and civil society. Films will be shown such as "Thirst" and "Reclaiming Water" with a Question & Answer session with the critically acclaimed director Angela Alston.

10:00 - 11:00 Registration and Introduction

11:00 - 12:00 "Reclaiming Water" film viewing followed by a Q&A with the film's director Angela Alston

12:00 - 12:45 "Coping with Water Scarcity" - Speaker: Frederick Pichke (UN Water Secretariat)

12:45 - 2:00 Lunch Break

2:00 - 3:00 "Gender and Water Access" - Speaker: Sarah Dobsevage (WaterAid America)

3:00 - 4:00 Viewing of the Film "Thirst"

4:00 - 5:45 Water Access Activity including a simulation of the World Water Forum

5:45 - 6:00 Closing statements

 

You are welcome to attend the whole day or only those parts you are most interested in. Participation is free of charge and registration is still possible.
