The WCC Scholarships Programme only accepts applications from member churches and related organizations. Individuals cannot apply for support for their personal learning programmes.

Applications for WCC scholarships must follow the following procedures:

The requesting body should first identify its needs for suitably qualified or trained people to meet its objectives.

The requesting body, usually the employer, should thoroughly discuss the proposed study programme with the potential candidate, including its purpose, content and length.

The requesting body then contacts the national correspondent in its home country to ensure that the local application procedures are followed. A local application form or a photocopy of the WCC form (either the Postgraduate studies form or the Group Training form) may be supplied.

It is important that you correctly fill out all relevant parts in the application form and include all relevant documents. Applications with incomplete documentation will not be considered for a scholarship.

The person submitting the WCC Scholarships application forms (e.g. national correspondents) should check carefully that all parts have been answered.

Please send two application forms and appendices (one original and one photocopy) to Geneva.

Please remember that preliminary acknowledgement of application does not imply that an award will finally be made.

Application submission dates

The WCC Scholarships Working Group meets once a year in September. In order for applications to be checked and any additional information obtained, applications must reach Geneva by 30 June.
